The second developer beta is available here
Apple has made available the fourth beta of iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, and watchOS 9.4.
Developers participating in the beta can download the latest versions via the Apple Developer Center, or by updating devices already running beta operating systems. Public beta builds are usually made available soon after their developer counterparts, and the public can try them out via the Apple Beta Software Program.
So far, the latest features in the operating system include more shortcut actions, more always-on display controls, and rich Mastodon previews in iMessage for users of this social platform.
However, starting with iOS 16.4 and other versions, users can no longer install profiles to control beta access. Instead, Apple makes it so that devices must be signed in to an Apple ID for beta updates to appear in Settings.
Camel And Apple strongly advises users not to install beta operating systems, or beta software in general, on “mission-critical” or essential devices, as there is a chance of problems that could lead to data loss. Testers should instead use secondary or non-primary devices and ensure that they have sufficient backup copies of their critical data at all times.
