As is usually the case with Google products, leaks often reveal the entirety of devices months before they are released. The next mid-range Pixel phone, the 7a, will likely arrive just before summer as the Pixel 6a was announced in May last year, but we already have a lot of information on it.
The alleged Pixel 7a
The latest leak comes with live images of the alleged 7a along with some specifications. Tipster cites a 6.1-inch, 1080p, 90Hz OLED panel, Google’s Tensor G2 SoC (flagship chipset for 2022), and UFS 3.1 storage.
The camera setup on the back consists of a 64MP Sony IMX787 main camera along with a 12MP ultrawide camera. The former will likely bring up a significant upgrade over the Pixel 6a’s 12.2MP unit.
Perhaps the most interesting thing is that the phone tends to support basic 5W wireless charging. With a decently powerful SoC and wireless charging in the mid-range segment, the Pixel 7a is shaping up to be a great all-around device, as long as the price is right, of course.
