Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 Ultra at its Unpacked 2023 launch event. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is at the top of the range and will be the company’s most unique smartphone of the year. The Galaxy S23 Ultra replaces the Galaxy S22 Ultra worldwide. The device looks identical to its predecessor. However, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has received several under-the-hood upgrades over the previous model.
The standout feature of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra revealed in Unpacked 2023 is the new 200MP main camera sensor. The smartphone continues to feature a dedicated slot at the bottom for the S Pen. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will take over the likes of iPhone 14 Pro Max and other premium smartphones that are currently available or soon to be launched in India. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available in 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 12GB + 1TB storage options. The price of the device starts at $1,199 (roughly Rs. 98,000).
The Galaxy S23 Ultra will be available for purchase in four colors – Phantom Black, Green, Lavender, and Cream.
The standout feature of this year’s S23 Ultra is the new 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor. It’s a 1/1.3-inch sensor and has an f/1.7 aperture. The device’s quad-camera setup also includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture, and another 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom and f/4.9 aperture. Except for the ultra wide camera, the three rear camera sensors support optical image stabilization (OIS). The Galaxy S23 Ultra can capture up to 100x Space Zoom.

For selfies, there is a 12MP front camera sensor. The phone has a hole punch in the upper middle of the screen for the front camera. Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The LTPO board can refresh between 1Hz and 120Hz. It also supports HDR10 + and has a layer of the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Like last year’s model, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a dedicated slot for the S Pen, the company’s smart pen for taking notes, performing air gestures for certain tasks, and so on.

Under the hood, there is a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for the Galaxy device. The SoC is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Galaxy S23 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging and 10W wireless charging. It has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The device weighs 234 grams and measures 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm. Finally, the phone runs Android 13 out of the box and has a layer of One UI 5.1 on top of Android.
