Samsung has released the January 2023 security patch since the beginning of this month, and several mid-range and high-end smartphones have already received the update. Now, the locked versions of phones in the Galaxy S20 lineup have started getting the new security update.
The latest software update for carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a firmware release. G98xUSQS3GWA2 in the United States. The update is currently available on the Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks in the country, and more carriers will be releasing the update within the next few days. Unlocked versions of phones in the Galaxy S20 series have not yet received the update.
The January 2023 security patch in the new update fixes several security holes, including those in Samsung Knox, Secure Folder, and the Galaxy Store. It may also improve the reliability and stability of phones. No new features are expected to be part of the new firmware.
