OnePlus surprised many of us in 2022 by not releasing a standard OnePlus 10, but instead going straight to the OnePlus 10 Pro. What does that mean for the OnePlus 11?
Rumors have already hinted at a similar setup, with only one phone mentioned so far. But this time the label may be reversed, with no pro to speak of. That’s all we know so far about the OnePlus 11.
When will OnePlus 11 be launched?
No word from OnePlus on when the 11 or 11 Pro will arrive. Early 2023 would be a good guess though — OnePlus usually releases flagships every spring, and in fact the OnePlus 10 Pro was unveiled as early as January 2022 in China.
We might see it sooner than that though. The usually leaked digital chat station mentions that the upcoming OnePlus flagship will launch “at the end of the year” (machine translated from Chinese), and has since suggested that it could be as soon as this month, November.
If this seems unreasonable, remember that the phone is likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is expected to be launched this month, a few weeks earlier than usual, to give Chinese phone manufacturers time to bring products to market before the Chinese New Year sales season in January.
This is only China though. If we look at past numbered OnePlus flagship global release schedules (not counting the “T” models, which launch later in the year), it works out like this:
- OnePlus 10 Pro – March 2022
- OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro – March 2021
- OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro – April 2020
So, if OnePlus sticks to this new schedule, so will it March 2023 When we see the OnePlus 11 and/or 11 Pro globally, but we might see it arrive in China earlier November 2022.
How much will OnePlus 11 cost?
Since there’s no confirmation from OnePlus yet on pricing, we’ll use previous models to put us in the picture. Here is the price of the last few of the flagships:
- OnePlus 10T – $649 / £629 / €699
- OnePlus 10 Pro – $899 / £799 / €899
- OnePlus 9 – $729 / £629 / €699
- OnePlus 9 Pro – $999 / £829 / €899
- OnePlus 8T – $649 / £549 / €649
If OnePlus is only working with a Pro model for the 11 series, it will likely be close to the current 10 Pro price, otherwise we’d hope to see something a little cheaper, along the lines of the OnePlus 10T. This may not quite work out though, as chip shortages around the world, plus disruptions to manufacturing and distribution caused by Covid and the Ukrainian invasion by Russia all begin to drive up prices.
What features and specifications will we see in OnePlus 11?
So far, there have been few concrete leaks about the OnePlus 11 series, but details are starting to emerge.
The first thing to note is the name. In 2022, OnePlus launched the 10 Pro without the 10, and all the leaks we’ve seen so far this year point to a repeat, with one phone featuring Pro-level specs. However, dropouts Max Jambor and OnLeaks They suggested that this time the nomenclature will change, with this phone set to be called the OnePlus 11 even though it has specifications comparable to the company’s Pro phones.
OnLeaks is also the source for our best look at the phone, as the Gadget Gang shares what it claims are official OnePlus renders of the phone in two colours, Forest Emerald and Volcanic Black:

The photo reveals some key details. First, the phone includes both the alert slider and Hasselblad branding found on the 10 Pro, but missing from the 10T in the fall.
We also see a new camera module, a circular design that still features the wrap-around element introduced on the 10 Pro, now in a glossy finish. Three cameras and a flash are included, which shouldn’t be surprising.
Ahead, the same leaker revealed a set of renders of its own based on an “early prototype,” in partnership with SmartPrix, that gives us some extra angles on the device.
A November 2022 leak from the Digital Chat Station claims that the OnePlus 11 will be made of ceramic instead of glass or metal. We’ve seen it on phones before like the Oppo Find X5 Pro and imagined it would be even more popular now. It still allows for wireless charging but gives the phones a solid, premium feel and probably isn’t as prone to shattering all over the place when dropped.
OnLeaks has since partnered with another site, 91Mobiles, to share more concrete specs as well. The key one is that the phone will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which has always seemed like a safe bet — it’s slated to be Qualcomm’s next flagship chip and will power most of its high-end Android phones in the first half of 2023.
Also expecting a return is a 6.7-inch 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, up to 16GB of RAM, and a large 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging — oddly slower than the OnePlus 10T’s 150W speeds.
As for the camera, OnLeaks expects the selfie camera to be a 16MP aperture, while the rear three lenses will consist of a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP 2x telephoto lens.
This has since been confirmed by the leaked Digital Chat Station, which expanded on that prediction to specify the sensors: a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera, a 48MP Sony IMX851 ultrawide, and a 32MP IMX709 2x telephoto. He also added that the exact same setup can be seen on the foldable Oppo Find N2, although the Find N2 may get the addition of optical image stabilization (OIS) which may not be seen on the OnePlus.
Whether we see the 11, 11 Pro, or both, we’re looking forward to what the next generation might bring. Until then, check out our roundups of the best smartphones and the best OnePlus smartphones to see what you can buy today.
