Months after its launch in Europe and India, Motorola Edge 30 Fusion has arrived in the US, and it comes in a special color as well.
Motorola It announced a new smartphone for the US market, and from a design standpoint, this is one of its best looking phones released in the region this year. The Motorola Edge family is a very large family, but only a few models are sold in the US, and most of them are available in India and Europe.
The Edge series of smartphones aren’t the only models missing in North America. Motorola even decided not to launch the long-awaited Razr 2022 foldable smartphone in the US, instead, it is only sold in China and some parts of Europe. Many of its affordable Moto G and Moto E series smartphones are also not available, and none of its tablets have been released in this part of the world either.
This is why it is surprising to see the launch of the new smartphone, called Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, in the country. The name might sound familiar to some since the phone was first announced a few months ago and released in Europe and India. Now, Motorola has brought it to the US. The phone has a different design compared to the Motorola Edge + (2022) and Edge (2022). However, what makes it special is the collaboration with Pantone. The Edge 30 Fusion Special Edition is painted Viva Magenta (red), Pantone’s color of the year for 2023. Motorola has released a more subtle blue if a little too flashy.
It also comes in blue
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion has some great specs. The 6.55-inch pOLED display is curved at the edges and features FHD+ (2400 x 1200) resolution, HDR10+, 144Hz refresh rate, and 1,100nits brightness. It may not have the latest and greatest processing package, but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ is still powerful. The chipset is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has a MicroSD card slot for up to an additional 1TB of storage, which is a rarity nowadays.
As for its cameras, the Edge 30 Fusion has a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 32MP front camera as well. The front and back of the phone are protected by Gorilla Glass 5, and it has an IP52 rating. The phone supports Face Unlock and includes a fingerprint scanner. There is no headphone jack, but the phone has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology.
Motorola Edge 30 Fusion supports Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi 6E. It has a 4,400mAh battery with 68W fast charging, and unlike the Motorola Edge (2022), it comes with a charger in the box. The phone comes with Android 12 and comes with Motorola’s Ready For, a feature that allows it to work like a desktop computer when connected to a monitor or TV. Motorola says the phone will be available unlocked starting December 12th exclusively on its website and will be compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. The Pantone version will be available for $799 with an edition Motorola The Buds 600 ANC earbuds, while the Neptune Blue variant will retail for $699.
