Best smartphones of 2022: there is so much to choose! 2022 has seen brands take extra steps to offer some great deals across all price points. Throughout the year, we’ve seen some great smartphones from leading brands, and some from emerging startups that have been very successful. For smartphone lovers, 2022 was a great year to enjoy.
From a sea of great phones, we at HT Tech have handpicked some of the best smartphones we’ve reviewed this year. Our list includes flagship phones as well as those that are publicly accessible. For us, it’s not just about having the best specs; User experience is what we value.
Best smartphones of 2022 that we loved:
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
Our favorite in 2022! The Galaxy S22 Ultra literally has everything you can expect from a flagship phone today. Great set of cameras to play with, a nice big screen with a case-assisted S Pen, good battery life, and a great design. There is nothing better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra we saw this year. You can buy it at a price of Rs. 109,999 now.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
The only new iPhone we’ve seen this year in the true sense! iPhone 14 Pro Max left us wowed by its great camera system, beautiful build, stunning display, and cool dynamic island. Not forgetting the unparalleled battery life that iPhone 14 Pro Max offers out of the box! It is very expensive starting at Rs. 139,900 but it’s one gem in a smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
The foldable phone is cool and the one that flips is even cooler! Starting at Rs. 90,000, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 tops the cool factor chart, and it’s a pretty cool phone to boot. The Flip 4 is pretty fast with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, decent all-day battery life, a pair of good cameras, and all the major perks you’d expect from a high-end smartphone.
Google Pixel 7 Pro
Google returns to the main segment with an impressive Rs. 84,999 Pixel 7 Pro; A phone with an impressive array of cameras that work magic at night. In fact, the Pixel 7 Pro is in our opinion the best fixed camera smartphone you can buy today. You can also buy it for the beautiful Android experience. Pixel 7 at Rs. 59,999 is a more cost-effective way to get this experience, but you’re missing out on the 5X telephoto camera.
at Rs. 29,999, Nothing Phone 1 is a great phone to own. Phone 1 offers the cleanest Android experience in the segment, and great performance to back up. However, we liked the Phone 1 for its great build quality, stunning new design with its gorgeous Glyph lighting interface, and good battery life. Highly recommended for those who love a unique smartphone.
Redmi Note 11 Pro phone
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11 Pro is our favorite in the sub R20,000 denomination. For Rs. 18,000, the Note 11 Pro offers unparalleled value. A great 120Hz AMOLED screen, glass back, great battery life backed by fast 67W wired charging, and a decent camera combo. The Redmi Note 11 Pro was our easy recommendation in this price segment.
Realme 9 Pro +
Realme 9 Pro+ starts at Rs. 24,999 makes it to our list just for camera performance. The phone surprised us with its amazing still photography earlier this year, and everyone who uses it even today loves it. The rest of the smartphone is good enough but photographers should keep this in mind, if budget is a constraint.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra
In a year of rather boring releases, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the most surprising phone out there. The Edge 30 Ultra is a great flagship phone, offering a great Android experience, a great display, a fun 200MP main camera for all lighting conditions, and fast 125W wired charging.
iPhone SE third generation
Yes, iPhone SE makes our list of favourites. surprised? The iPhone SE 3 is now more expensive and hasn’t gotten any better. However, as an entry-level iPhone, the iPhone SE 3 is a great phone. It’s compact and comfortable to use, great performance, a good pair of cameras, and decent all-day battery life. Plus, it’s a favorite among those who swear by the old iPhone’s design.
