The Mi 13 smartphones are set to be the latest in the competitive and capable flagship series, manufactured by Xiaomi. After their renders were leaked last month, Xiaomi has gone ahead and announced a launch event, which is scheduled to take place on December 1.
However, instead of providing the latest news from the event itself, along with any juicy details about the Mi 13 and Mi 13 Pro, we have to report that Xiaomi had to postpone the launch event, without going into details as to why. or even when.
Recently leaked renders of the Mi 13 and Mi 13 Pro smartphones.
The news came from Xiaomi A Weibo account (translated source), where the company shared a simple message, expressing regret at having to postpone the event and stating that it will let its fans know the new date and time as soon as possible.
As of the time of writing, Xiaomi has not yet disclosed new data, nor has it gone into further details. Fan comments below their posts seem very understanding of the change of plans.
There was speculation online that the reason for the delay was the recent death of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin, as Xiaomi made its announcement closely after the news broke.
If this is indeed the case, then according to Chinese tradition we can expect a mourning period of 49 days, which means that we may see Mi 13 and Mi 13 Pro unveiled in late January of 2023, but that is just speculation at this point.
We expect the Mi 13 to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, AMOLED LTPO display with variable refresh rates, support for up to 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Once Xiaomi announces a new launch event date and the phones are revealed, we’ll let you know if that’s actually the case.
