We’re nearing the end of the year now, and that can only mean one thing. The start of a new smartphone launch cycle! Did you expect us to say Christmas? Well, Crimbo aside, the start of the new year marks a new year of smartphones for us to dress up. And it looks like Samsung will be one of the first companies to launch some new devices, with the Galaxy S23 launch event.
According to two recent reports, Samsung will hold its first launch event in February. The first comes from Korea’s JoongAng Daily, where an unnamed Samsung executive explained that the S23 series will be showcased at the Unpacked event in the US next February. The second comes from Chosun, also citing a launch date of February. While Samsung has yet to announce the event itself, reports from a couple of different Korean media outlets are a strong sign.
For the past few years, Samsung’s flagship Unpacked event has been held at the beginning of February. This year, the Galaxy S22 series was launched on February 9th. Back in 2020, the brand unveiled the Galaxy S20 series on February 11th. The launch of the Galaxy S21 range in 2021 broke the trend a bit with its launch at the end of January. But it makes sense for Samsung to continue with its early February schedule.
At this event, we expect the brand to unveil its new Galaxy S23 series of smartphones. The new devices are set to pack bigger batteries, the latest Snapdragon chipset, and some camera upgrades. However, there are still some things we don’t know about the new smartphones. Fortunately, it seems like there won’t be long before Samsung reveals the devices.
