ZTE Axon 40 Ultra flagship smartphone goes on sale in China; The price starts at 4,988 yuan ($735).

A few days ago, ZTE launched its latest flagship smartphones in China – ZTE Axon 40 Pro and ZTE Axon 40 Ultra. Now, the top model in the lineup, called ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, is available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage is priced at 4,998 yuan (~$735), while the 12GB and 256GB storage model costs 5,298 yuan (~$779). The 12GB and 512GB storage model is priced at 5,798 Yuan (~$852), while the top model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs 7,298 Yuan (~$1,073).

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is characterized by 6.81-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, 10-bit color, 400ppi pixel density.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, the phone has a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor with full pixel omnidirectional autofocus. It pairs with a 64MP Sony IMX787 Ultra HD Camera and a 64MP Telephoto Camera with OIS. On the front, there is a 16MP under-display camera sensor.

The third-generation under-display camera technology includes an independent pixel engine, distributed transparent circuit, and a custom UDC Pro display chip. The phone includes dual speakers with support for DTS Ultra and X-axis Linear Engine.

It runs Android 12 out of the box with the company’s MiFavor UI on top. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, but the smartphone lacks wireless charging support.
