Customs seizes 5,000 smuggled mobile phones from Dubai

QUETTA – Pakistani customs on Wednesday seized 5,000 expensive mobile phones that were smuggled into Gwadar from Dubai by boat. The Pakistan Customs team in a raid on Balagh on Gwadar Beach confiscated 5,000 cell phones which had been loaded into a vehicle. The seized mobile phones are worth more than 200 million rupees. The customs spokesman said the case against the smugglers has been registered. The Exemplary Customs group at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle iPhones worth 10 million rupees. According to the official spokesperson for the customs, the authorities deployed for international departures have been informed of an attempt to smuggle mobile phones and electronic materials from Sharjah to Karachi.
