Just hours ago, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE started receiving its very own One UI 5 update based on Android 13, and lo and behold, we’re not even a day away from that, and its successor is in the works as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is now being honored with the Korean company’s latest software shell, which is built on top of Google’s latest Android build. The update is currently available in select markets for the international model, which identifies itself as the SM-G990B.
The new build being rolled out is called G990BXXU2DVK3, it arrives over the air as a 2.3GB download, and it brings with it the October 1, 2022 security patch level. This isn’t recent by any means, and we fully expect Samsung to patch this in early December when it should Rolls out the December security update to S21 FE.
Until then, if you own one of these (with the model number mentioned above), it might just pay to manually check for an update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. You might get lucky and get a taste of One UI 5 by the end of the day. If the update isn’t available to you yet, don’t worry – it’s definitely on its way now and it may take a few days until it hits all the units out there in the wild.
