I spent an hour with the Vivo X Fold and I don’t have to worry about Samsung! I know why

Vivo recently showcased its first foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold, and is going to give tough competition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Here’s why.

On Tuesday, smartphone maker Vivo held its first ever Technology Day 2022 event in India and showcased its first foldable smartphone – Vivo X Fold. I spent about an hour with the Vivo X Fold and I can say that for now, Samsung has to worry a little bit because it’s going to have really tough competition. Although the company has not yet revealed the launch date of the phone in India, it can be said that the phone has features to challenge leading foldable smartphone makers like Samsung.

When you compare the Vivo X Fold with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, you will notice that the display or screen of the Vivo X Fold is wider as compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Also, users of foldable phones must have noticed the crease in the middle of the screen while open it. Vivo X Fold comes with a unibody structure for the hinge that supports the width of the phone when opened, reducing creases. With that already said, here are some interesting details you need to know about the Vivo X Fold:

I’m not sure which
mobile to buy?

Vivo X Fold Design: Vivo’s first foldable smartphone looks similar to the Vivo X80 and comes with a leather back design that won’t attract any smudges, dust, or finger prints. The back of the phone contains a quad camera. The phone looks stylish and cool.

Vivo X Fold screen: As mentioned earlier, the Vivo Fold’s usable screen size is wider when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Once unfolded, the phone also resolves the crease issue with the help of the aerospace-grade hinge. Vivo X Fold also comes with dual screen 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning with the help of which users will be able to use the fingerprint unlock on both screens with a single record. According to Vivo, even if you open the Vivo X Fold about 80 times a day, the screen will last up to 10 years.

Vivo X Fold Camera: The phone comes with a quad camera on the back and a selfie camera on the front. The phone’s camera performance seems commendable.

Vivo X Fold price: The phone comes in China with a starting price of CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 102,883), however, the price at which the phone will be launched in India is not yet known. It is known that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a starting price of Rs. 154,999.
