It can be said that the smartphone space has experienced somewhat low tech developments in recent times, but there is no doubt that the fast charging feature on phones has been greatly improved.

Gone are the days when phones charged overnight for use during the day. The scenario is completely different now. With this kind of technology now available, phones can be fully charged in less than 10 minutes. This may sound crazy, but it’s true.

This revolutionary charging technology is largely credited to Chinese smartphone makers, who have been constantly pushing the boundaries to up the ante on their smartphones. On the other hand, smartphone giants like Apple and Samsung have yet to break into this field.

Until last year, smartphones with 120W charging were the fastest, but now we have phones that can support 200W charging. This list ranks the top 10 best charging phones worldwide. Read ahead to learn more about these devices and be blown away by their charging capabilities.

How are the phones rated?

Shipping data was collected through various websites and YouTube videos, since none of the fast charging technologies mentioned are available in the US. Also, keep in mind that shipping time varies with conditions, so you may notice different results while testing in person. When ranking these phones, we calculated the battery capacity charged (mAh) per minute due to variable battery capacity across the phones in the list.

10. iQOO 9T

The iQOO 9T may be at the bottom of this list, but its charging technology isn’t slow. The phone packs a 4,700mAh battery, which iQOO claims can be charged in about 20 minutes through its 120W charging technology. When tested, the phone manages to charge the battery in about 23 minutes. That’s rather impressive, especially considering that flagship demos from Apple and Samsung take just over an hour on a full charge.

iQOO 9T is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, the front camera has a 16MP camera for selfies and video calling. You can get iQOO for a starting price of $609 (approx).

9. Xiaomi 12 Pro

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is a flagship offering that directly competes with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and iPhone 13 Pro. The phone has a basic design, but the hardware on offer is pretty solid. You get the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In the camera department, the device has three 50MP sensors on the back and a 32MP camera on the front.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro gets its juice from a 4,600mAh battery that can be charged with the 120W HyperCharge fast charger. It takes about 24 minutes to fully charge the phone. However, with Boost mode on, it only takes about 21 minutes. Xiaomi 12 Pro will cost you $999 for the base 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

8. iQOO 9 Pro

iQOO 9 Pro was released earlier this year with the latest hardware. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is equipped with a 50MP Samsung Isocell GN5 sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 16MP portrait lens with 2.5x optical zoom.

The device is one of the fastest phones, charging 120 watts. It lives up to its claimed charge by topping up the 4,700mAh battery in about 20 minutes. iQOO 9 Pro can be bought for INR 59,990 (~$743)

7. Realme GT Neo 3

Realme GT Neo 3 was the first commercially available smartphone in the world to have 150W fast charging. It was shown at Mobile World Congress 2022 and released a few months later. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8100 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.8GHz. It packs up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There is a 50MP triple camera system on the back and a 16MP selfie camera.

Realme GT Neo 3 uses UltraDart charging to charge its 4,500mAh battery. It is claimed that the device can be fully charged in about 17 minutes using a 150W charger. Charging time approaches 0 100% to 19 minutes in actual use, very close to the claim made. Realme GT Neo 3 retails for £600 (about $700).

6. Xiaomi 11T Pro

The Xiaomi 11T Pro was launched in the second half of 2021, but it is still one of the fastest shipping phones in the world. The phone packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In the camera department, the Xiaomi 11T Pro gets a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro sensor. At the front, there is a 16MP camera for selfies.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro packs a large 5,000mAh battery that can be charged by the company’s 120W HyperCharge technology. The phone was found to charge from 0 to 100% in about 21 minutes. Interestingly, the 5,000mAh battery is cut into two halves to prevent the phone from overheating. Pricing for this fast-charging device from Xiaomi starts at £599 (around $700).

5. OnePlus 10R

OnePlus has entered the ultra-fast charging area with the OnePlus 10R. The device supports 150W charging, which, according to OnePlus, can fully charge your device in about 17 minutes. This is almost true, as the device is able to charge a 4,500 mAh battery in about 18 minutes in multiple tests.

The OnePlus 10R falls between the Nord and OnePlus flagship phones. It is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset clocked at 2.85GHz. The phone has a triple rear camera system including a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The OnePlus 9R is sold in select markets, including India, where it’s available starting at Rs 38,999 (about $485).

The OnePlus 10T is the fastest phone available in the US. Unlike the OnePlus 10R, this phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The phone is offered in two configurations, with the higher-end model getting up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of RAM. GB of onboard storage. The OnePlus 10T is powered by a 4,800mAh battery that can be charged in about 19 minutes using the supplied 160W SuperVOOC charger. The brand advertises a charging time of around 19 minutes, and the phone manages that on most occasions. While it does support 150W charging, the situation is a little complicated in the US here, you can only charge at 125W due to AC power port limitations. Nubia Red Magic 7 Pro is the only gaming phone to be on the list of fastest-charging phones. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone has a Red Core 1 gaming chip dedicated to optimizing gaming-related tasks. In terms of cameras, the phone gets a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor.

The Red Magic 7 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 135W charging — but the company only provides a 65W charger in the box. In the charging test, it was found that the device can be charged in about 18 minutes with a supported charger. Buying the Nubia Redmi Magic 7 Pro is expensive as it starts at $799.

2. iQOO 10 Pro

A few months ago, the iQOO 10 Pro was the fastest charging phone in the world – but now it has slipped to second place. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and paired with the V1 Plus (ISP). You can get the iQOO 10 Pro in three options, with the top model featuring 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. iQOO 10 Pro features a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP GN5 primary sensor, a 50MP secondary lens with 150-degree FOV, and a 14.6MP sensor with up to 40X digital zoom. At the front, it has a 16MP camera for selfies.

The iQOO 10 Pro offers 200W fast charging and is expected to charge the 4,700mAh battery in 10 minutes. Charging tests by various YouTubers reveal that iQOO’s claim is not true. In the real world, the smartphone takes about 13 minutes 30 seconds – which is 3 minutes more than the advertised time. Fortunately, the 200W GaN charger is covered in the asking price, which is 4,999 yuan (about $471).

1. Redmi Note 12 Explorer

Xiaomi’s newly launched Redmi Note 12 Explorer smartphone takes the top spot in our list of fastest-charging phones. It brings 210W charging – the fastest on any phone to date. Although charging is the main highlight of this device, it is not lacking in the rest of the devices. Note 12 Explorer is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 octa-core chipset based on 6nm manufacturing process. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There is a 200-megapixel triple camera system on the back and a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.

The Redmi Note 12 Explorer packs a 4,300mAh battery that can charge to 66% in five minutes and up to 100% in about nine minutes. The folks at Charger Labs put the device to the test to verify this claim. In testing, it was found that the device took about 10 minutes and 10 seconds to fully charge. The maximum charging output recorded was 184W, while the peak temperature rose to 43.3°C. Redmi Note 12 Explorer starts at 2,799 yuan (about $383). However, you will never be able to purchase one in the US
