OnePlus 11: specifications, price, release date and all the rumors

Even though OnePlus came out with the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10T in 2022, that doesn’t stop it from already working on its next flagship smartphone. And since OnePlus usually has a regular schedule with new releases, we should expect the OnePlus 11 sometime early next year.

More OnePlus 11 rumors are starting to surface about the phone’s design, specifications, and more. Here’s everything we know so far about the OnePlus 11.

While rumors have swirled about the OnePlus 11 Pro, that may not be the name of the phone. Although the next flagship should be the OnePlus 11 Pro, it is very likely that the ‘Pro’ moniker will be dropped, and it will simply be called the OnePlus 11.

But don’t be fooled by the lack of a “professional” designation — the OnePlus 11 will still be packed with pro features.

There is also speculation that OnePlus may be working on another device called OnePlus 11R. This phone may have a 6.7 inch HD AMOLED display with a possible refresh rate of 120Hz. However, this won’t be the latest and greatest offering from OnePlus, as it may use the older Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip. Other rumored specs include 8GB to 16GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. The rumored OnePlus 11R may also pack a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging.

OnePlus 11 design

OnePlus 10 Pro prototype leaked

The design of the OnePlus 11 hasn’t been confirmed, but there was a recent leak of what the OnePlus 11 could look like. The “first look” is a render based on a prototype of the device, so of course, the final design may change once the actual announcement is made.

Based on this rendering, the camera island’s half-wrap design could be prominent on the OnePlus 11. However, instead of previous designs with three lenses and an LED flash, this hump appears circular inside the camera island. Based on this render, it appears to be a combination of the OnePlus 10 Pro and Huawei P50 Pro, but you know, the worst.

The body of the phone itself should have a glass sandwich design with a thin metal frame between the glass panels. The glass will be curved on both sides of the frame, and you may be able to tell that the front screen has a subtle curve because of this. On the front screen, there will be a punch-hole cutout in the upper-left corner, which houses the selfie camera. There weren’t a lot of additional details on the OnePlus 11’s display, but it was reported that it will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display. And again, it will have a punch-hole cutout on the top left for the selfie camera.

It also looks like the alert slider is made to come back. OnePlus removed this on the OnePlus 10T, oddly enough, and got it Much Flak for that – although it’s clear that it’s been removed to make room for a larger battery, other fast charging devices, and antennas. In renders, the alert slider appears to be on the right side, so OnePlus may have figured out a way to accommodate the extra hardware while still having the slider in place.

Ceramic = No

Although there has been some speculation that the OnePlus 11 may use ceramic materials, this may not be the case. We won’t know for sure until the OnePlus 11 is announced.

It has been confirmed that OnePlus 11 will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is packed inside. Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 during the Snapdragon Summit in November 2022, and the OnePlus 11 will be one of the first Android devices to get a next-generation chip.

It’s very likely that the OnePlus 11 will run OxygenOS 13, which will be based on Android 13, once it’s up and running out of the box. The base model of the OnePlus 11 may have 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage, and it can go up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Like other recent OnePlus flagships, don’t expect a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

A new twist in the OnePlus 11 rumor mill is that it could be one of the first Android phones with UFS 4.0 storage. For the record, most Android phones are now using UFS 3.1. Although the current generation is fast, the next iteration of UFS 4.0 will be even faster. With UFS 4.0, you can get data speeds of up to 23.2Gbps, which is twice the rate of UFS 3.1. This is partly due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which added support for UFS 4.0.

OnePlus 11 cameras

OnePlus 10 Pro allegedly leaked

The latest OnePlus 11 camera report indicates that the phone will share the same camera setup with the Oppo Find N2 – Oppo’s rumored successor to the original Find N foldable.

According to the report, the OnePlus 11 may end up with a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera, a 48MP IMX581 ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP IMX709 2x zoom camera. This will also be the same on the Oppo Find N2, with one big difference: the Find N2 gets optical image stabilization (OIS), while the OnePlus 11 doesn’t.

Although the camera hardware is from Sony, the OnePlus 11 will bring back the Hasselblad branding that was absent from the OnePlus 10T. Originally, the Hasselblad brand was dropped with the OnePlus 10T to save royalty on the less premium phone, but Hasselblad is back with the OnePlus 11. This is part of a three-year partnership between OnePlus and Hasselblad, to focus primarily on image tuning and calibration for the best camera experience. the smartphone.

Rumors suggest that we will see a 5,000mAh battery for the OnePlus 11, which is larger than the OnePlus 10T and has the same capacity as the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 11 could also have 100W wired charging speeds, though this may be restricted in the US.

For context, the OnePlus 10 Pro offered 80W fast charging but was scaled down to 65W in the US, and the OnePlus 10T also had a similar situation, offering 150W charging globally but capped at 125W in the US.

Historically, OnePlus has released its flagship phones early in the year, usually around March or April. Out is 2022, though the OnePlus 10 Pro was launched in China in January. However, the global version was launched in March 2022. This is in line with OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro that debuted in April 2020, as well as the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro and 9R that were released in March 2021.

Given this pattern, we should expect the OnePlus 11 sometime in March or April 2023, with a possible China-only launch in January 2023.

In terms of price, we expect the OnePlus 11 to be in the sub-$900 range, just like flagships from other competitors, such as the Google Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro, both of which start at $899 and $999, respectively. Based on the speculations, OnePlus 11 could be one of the best smartphones to be picked up next year.
