A media report revealed that Google plans to launch its first foldable smartphone, priced at $1,799, in May next year, along with the Pixel Tablet. “The camera strip on the Pixel Fold is not as wide as the one on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, because it doesn’t reach all the way to the edges,” the report said. A source revealed that the phone is likely to be heavy, but did not reveal a “compared to?”.
It will likely have two 9.5MP selfie cameras, “one inside the punch-hole in the outer screen, and the other on the right side of the large upper edge of the inner screen.” According to the renders, the smartphone will have fairly wide bezels at the top and right side of the screen. It will likely have a Type C port for charging.
The fingerprint reader is likely integrated on the power button and “there are two speakers – one on the top side and one on the bottom”. According to the renders, it will have a SIM tray on the bottom edge.
In August, a report claimed that the tech giant’s Pixel Fold would likely feature a ‘full-screen’ interior with a bezel-mounted super punch-hole camera. The report further reveals that the smartphone may come with a Tensor chip.
For the uninitiated, Google recently launched the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in India, priced at Rs 59,999 and Rs 84,999, respectively.
