Majority of Oppo smartphones work on Reliance Jio’s 5G SA network

New Delhi: Major smartphone maker Oppo said most of its devices were ready for 5G services from Reliance Jio that use an independent technology architecture or SA, adding that any 5G device launched by the brand from now on will be SA network enabled.

“OPPO India’s dedicated efforts to develop the 5G ecosystem in India will enable our users to experience True 5G. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation to share experience through our devices,” Making life easier and more convenient. All of our upcoming 5G devices will be SA and NSA compliant”

Oppo said it has started rolling out software updates to its series of 5G-enabled products across different price segments to support its standalone 5G network. Software updates for Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, Reno 7, F21 Pro 5G, F19 Pro+, K10 and A53s have already been upgraded to the SA network and users can now try out Jio 5G services across cities where the network is available.

Other models will be SA network enabled soon.

The brand has championed Jio’s ‘True 5G’ services as being superior and highly relevant to Indians due to not being dependent on 4G and providing the best low latency, edge computing, 5G voice and network slicing capabilities.

Oppo added that it has held the first 5G field tests across multiple cities in different frequency bands and scenarios to provide its users with the most comprehensive 5G experience. Oppo India is a leading player in slicing DSS, VONR and SA networks along with other technologies in the country and is leading in the number of patents related to 5G standards.
