Asus has laid out a roadmap for when Android 13 will roll out to eligible devices, and it covers Zenfone and ROG-branded phones.

It only offers two years of OS upgrades for its flagship phones which is a far cry from what competitors like Samsung offer for its devices.
Samsung’s flagship phones and even mid-range Galaxy A smartphones are eligible for four years of operating system upgrades and five years of security updates. This means that phones like the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A53 5G will be updated to Android 16. Other manufacturers like Google, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Oppo offer three operating system upgrades for their flagship devices and between three and five years of security updates.
Asus will release Android 13 with Zenfone 9. It is the only Zenfone released this year. ROG phones will receive the update later
The Android 13 roadmap also includes the ROG tag for other phones from Asus. Qualified update ROG Gaming smartphones won’t start appearing until 2023, and they’ll start with the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate. Both phones are the MediaTek-powered variants of the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro, which were launched earlier this year. Asus says the update will be rolled out in the first quarter of the year, which means between January and March. ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro will also receive the Android 13 upgrade during the same period.
Next on the list is the ROG Phone 5 and ROG Phone 5s series. ROG Phone 5 series includes ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, while ROG Phone 5s series includes ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s. The phones have been launched with Android 11 out of the box and have already been upgraded to Android 12. This makes Android 13 the second and final operating system update for them.
