The OPPO Reno 9 series is expected to be launched next month or in December 2022 in China. The company is expected to launch at least three phones later this year. These phones include Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro Plus. OPPO is likely to launch the Reno 9 series in India early next year. As we get closer to the rumored launch date, a new leak has revealed the specifications and features of the Vanilla Reno 9 5G.
OPPO is said to be switching to a Snapdragon 700-series processor for the vanilla Reno model. In comparison, the Reno 8 was launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC. Let’s take a look at OPPO Reno 9 specifications, features and other details known so far.
OPPO Reno 9 specifications
OPPO Reno 9 will be the company’s new top-end mid-range smartphone that will be launched later this year in China. India’s launch is likely to follow. Before announcing the official Reno 9 launch date, a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station (via) revealed the phone’s specifications.
The tipster claims that the Reno 9 will have a 6.7-inch OLED display with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The screen will support a 120Hz refresh rate, which would be an upgrade over the Reno 8’s 90Hz panel. There will also be a hole punched in the top center, which was revealed via a leaked live image of the phone.
Live images further revealed that the Reno 9 will have a triple camera on the back. It will have a 64MP OmniVision OV64B main camera. Details about the other two sensors are unknown at this time.
Under the hood, the Reno 9 5G will feature a Snapdragon 778G SoC. It will be launched with up to 12GB of RAM.
The phone is also said to have a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. This is contrary to some of the previous leaks that revealed that the phone will support global fast charging standards (UFCS) with a capacity of 40 watts.
