The Poco C40’s location tracking chip supports the following networks: GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and Beidou. However, the phone does not have SBAS support system, which can guarantee higher accuracy. We went outside with the review unit to see how fast and accurate the phone was in locating us: the GPS Test app indicated an accuracy of 3 meters after a short while, which is a typical result for most phones.
To get a better idea of how good the location tracking is, we hopped on our bike and went for a ride, bringing in a Garmin Venu 2 as a comparison device.
Poco C40 showed some weaknesses during testing. At one point, we had to turn around all of a sudden due to a construction site. This location tracking system completely ignored and instead simply drew a straight line across several plots of land to the next location point. The phone also finished tracking the location too soon.
In general, while the positioning was fairly accurate, due to the errors mentioned, you should think carefully about whether you want to rely on the Poco C40 as a navigation device.
