“Want binoculars for the Reno Super Series cup?” The Tipster digital chat station can be seen asking its followers on Weibo in the screenshot. He further stated that the zoom camera will not be included in the Reno9 series, which is expected to debut this month in China.
The OPPO Reno9 series is expected to appear at the end of November. Although the company has not announced its debut date, a new leak from TechGoing that has surfaced on Weibo hints at a new feature that will be coming to the elusive Reno10 series.
OPPO announced the Reno 10x Zoom smartphone in April 2019. It had a stunning all-screen design with a special pop-up camera module. However, the device’s periscope zoom camera, which features 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom, was its main selling point.
Later that year the company unveiled the vanilla OPPO Reno2. Since then, many generations of Reno phones have been introduced. However, none of them have packed the zoom cameras. It seems likely that OPPO may bring the feature back in the upcoming Reno10 lineup.
Another flip claims that a periscope camera feature will be added again to the Reno series in the Reno10 lineup, which is set to debut in mid-2023. More specifically, the “ultra cup” (translated) version will be the only one featuring a periscope camera. The super cup in this case refers to the top model in the line, which could be the OPPO Reno10 Pro Plus. As previously reported by Weibo by the same leaker, the Reno10 Pro+ will feature a 2x optical zoom. Currently, there are absolutely no details about the OPPO Reno10 smartphone lineup.
