Foldable devices may be the next frontier in mobile technology, but the vast majority of the most refined devices in this category still rarely come out of the Asian market. As a result, Western consumers naturally miss out on many foldable smartphones, often only having access to those offered by Samsung. thus, Samsung has had a relatively quiet reign at the top of the foldable market. Unfortunately, this led to a certain degree of stagnation on the part of the Korean tech giant. Its folds may be the most successful, but it still has a myriad of deficiencies that other manufacturers have since solved – case in point, Oppo Find N.
In its second generation (scheduled for release by the end of 2022), the Oppo Find N will address another issue that foldable devices have historically struggled with – weight. According to a prominent technology leaker Ice Universe, the Oppo Find N2 will be lighter than a mobile iPhone 14 Pro Max. a tweet He claims the fold will weigh “less than 240 grams”.
In terms of hardware, the Find N is indeed one of the most exceptional foldable devices you can buy. In many ways, it greatly outperforms Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, its biggest direct competitor. Find N folds flat and eliminates the annoying gap that Samsung users still have to contend with.
Additionally, Oppo has managed to make the Find N’s wrinkle virtually undetectable. After four generations of foldable smartphones, Samsung has yet to do the same. Finally, and most importantly, the Find N has significantly more usable aspect ratios than those of the Fold 4.
The Find N cover’s screen is much wider, which makes it look like a regular smartphone when folded. Making the device lighter and slimmer will enhance this experience further, further building on the 2-in-1 fantasy. This is all the more reason to hope that the Oppo Find N2 will be available internationally.
