Redmi Note 12 to display newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC which increased CPU power and efficiency

It’s been a while since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 series. The company has launched several phones in its production line in India, with the Note 11 SE – renamed Redmi Note 10S from 2021 – being the latest. The company is expected to launch the Redmi Note 12 series soon. The Redmi Note 12 series will debut in China and is expected to be launched sometime next year. The Note 12 series is likely to include the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 1080 series, according to digital chat station tipster.

The release date of the Redmi Note 12 series is unknown. Meanwhile, MediaTek has announced details about the Dimensity 1080 SoC.

MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC could be part of the Redmi Note 12 series

MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC is a new 5G chipset launched by the Taiwanese company. It could appear in the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series. This information comes from Tipster Digital Chat (via), who stated that internal testing of the phone with the chipset offers similar performance to that of the Snapdragon 778G SoC. It is said to have scored more than 520,000 points on AnTuTu.

The new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC is based on a 6nm process. It features an upgraded Octa-core CPU with two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores running at up to 2.6GHz, along with an ARM Mali-G68 GPU. The chipset also supports up to 200MP camera sensor and HyperEngine 3.0 for an enhanced gaming experience.

Previously, the same party revealed that the Note 12 series will get a 50MP camera sensor. The exact model that gets the ultra-high-resolution sensor is unknown at the moment. On the other hand, the standard Note 12 will get an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The tip further revealed that the Note 12 series will feature the same flat bezel design with square edges. The Note 12 series was spotted on the 3C certification website. According to the listing, the Note 12 Pro+ could feature support for 210W fast charging, while the Note 12 Pro is likely to support 120W fast charging. The standard Note 12 will get 67W fast charging.
