The Amazon Photos app for Android finally received a major redesign today, a full year after the iOS app got the same treatment for the first time. Talk about distinguishing between mobile platforms!
Anyway, in the new app, you can expect to be greeted with a more modern look every time you use it. Photos take center stage, there’s a dashboard at the bottom that gives you quick access to search and filters, and you can search for things and places along with people. This is where you can access curated features like Daily Memories.
The floating Amazon logo button in the top left lets you access your print services, your account, and app settings, while the Kite button in the top right lets you quickly share photos with people, just as the graphic suggests.
If you have Prime, you get unlimited storage for your photos, but not videos – that’s 5GB max. If you need more space for videos, there are plans starting at 100GB of storage.
The new version of the app is currently rolling out to Amazon Photos users, but it may take some time before it reaches everyone. Still, on the way now, finally.
