OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the latest smartphone to consider if you are looking in the mid-range. The new OnePlus phone, after many annoyances, comes with specifications such as a high refresh rate display, a 5G processor, and support for fast charging technology. The Nord 2T comes as a worthwhile upgrade to the Nord 2, but in theory the hardware isn’t that great in the sea of mid-range phones, or OnePlus’ own phones available at roughly the same price. For example, Poco F4 5G. Also Read – OnePlus Nord 2T will go on sale starting July 5 in India, other products to be launched too
Poco F4 5G was recently launched as a budget oriented phone with an emphasis on performance as buyers of the company’s supercharged Poco F3 have been expecting a successor for a long time. At roughly the same price, the Poco F4 5G brings the quality of a 5G processor, an OLED display with a high refresh rate, and a fast charging battery. The combination of mid-range specs with good looks makes the Poco F4 5G a worthy opponent of the OnePlus Nord 2T. Also Read – OnePlus Nord 2T launch schedule for Indian market has been revealed

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G vs. Poco F4 5G: Design and Display
Recent OnePlus phones looked somewhat similar. OnePlus’ budget-focused phones use a polycarbonate chassis to offset the costs, but the materials don’t seem to be specific at all. On the other hand, the Poco F4 5G uses a glass back, which not only makes it look premium but also offers protection from dust and water splashes with an IP54 rating. While glass is certainly an excellent material, some people prefer plastic for certain reasons, such as more durability.
The back of both the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G and Poco F4 5G feature camera bumps, which, again, are subject to preference. But the sensor design inside the bump on the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G feels a little less cluttered than the Poco F4 5G’s camera bump. Design, again, is subjective so there are no winners or losers in this department.
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G vs Poco F4 5G: Performance
OnePlus has branded Nord as budget-focused, which basically means that Nord-branded phones are for people who want reasonably good specs for less. Nord 2T 5G uses MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor, a new entrant in India’s smartphone market. We haven’t tested the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G yet, so we’d like to stick with our opinion on the performance of this phone. However, we did spend quite a bit of time with the Poco F4 5G and found it to be one of the fastest phones in the under Rs 30,000 category, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 865 chipset that has been used in the 2020 flagship phones.
OnePlus has a loyal fan base that prioritizes OxygenOS over anything else. This is because OxygenOS 12.1’s fluidity, combined with its bloatware-free interface, makes the phone easy to navigate. Poco F4 5G uses MIUI 13 but optimized for Poco phones as bloatware and ads have been eliminated. Overall, both phones will offer a simple interface.
The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FullHD resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate. It’s fine for people who like a smooth interface, but if you’re someone who’s into gaming and would prioritize it over anything else, the Poco F4 5G is worth considering. This is because the new Poco phone has a 6.67-inch OLED display with FullHD resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G vs Poco F4 5G: Cameras
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G has three cameras on the back. There is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera with optical image stabilization support, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel mono camera. Since we haven’t tested the phone yet, we’re not sure how good (or bad) the cameras are. But we’ve dealt with the Poco F4 5G cameras, and we’ve found them to be great for the price. The Poco F4 5G comes with a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Poco did not say what type of sensor the main camera uses.
On the front, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G has a 32MP camera, while the Poco F4 5G uses a 20MP camera. Poco F4 5G clicks great selfies with some cosmetic touches. But given that the OnePlus Nord 2T uses a Sony IMX766 sensor on the back, you can expect images to look vivid and retain detail.
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G vs. Poco F4 5G: Battery
The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G promises 80W fast charging support on a 4500mAh battery. According to the company’s claim, the battery can go from 1 to 100 percent in 27 minutes, and the battery easily lasts up to two days. The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the second phone in the company’s entire lineup to come with 80W charging support. On the other hand, the Poco F4 5G uses a slightly slower 67W charging technology, which is touted to fill the battery in 38 minutes. If you are someone who needs maximum charging speed on their phone, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is worth considering the Poco F4 5G. The good thing is that both phones come with the power adapter included in the box.
OnePlus Nord 2T 5G vs Poco F4 5G: Which is better?
The OnePlus Nord 2T definitely comes with the bells and whistles that seem enough to attract mid-range buyers. It’s got OnePlus’ software promise, while the hardware is powerful enough for everyday household chores, as well as gaming as long as it’s in check. But the Poco F4 5G, in addition to offering it all, features a faster processor meant for high-end gaming. Its display is definitely better for gaming, while the software has been optimized accordingly. That said, the camera is where the OnePlus Nord 2T likely has a top edge, but we can’t tell you the exact difference until we’ve finished our review of the new OnePlus phone. Nord 2T’s specs are good enough for people who prefer clean software, fast charging, and a sleek look. But for now, the Poco F4 5G’s camera looks impressive which makes this phone a good value for money.
The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G starts at Rs 28,999, while the Poco F4 5G is priced at Rs 27,999 for the base variant.
